Aim: How do we evaluate algebraic expressions?

March 13, 2009

Today in class, we worked on varies and variables. They are two different things. A variable is a letter that replace a missing  number in an expression or equation. A vary is something that is different or caused to be different. We also learned how to write expressions in another way. For example, 12x can be written as x(12), 12•x, 12x, and 12xx. 4/y can be written as 4÷y. 3xy/2 can be written as 3•y÷2. The difference between a variable and a constant is that a variable varies a number and can change. A constant doesn't change. The is what we did in class today
